On Election Day, regardless of who you support or what party you belong to, let us all agree to hold the Highest Vision for the Highest Outcome for All Peoples and All Nations on November 4th.

We begin the month of November under the Mayan Sun Sign of "Offering (Muluc)", and the galactic tone of "One" representing Unity....which I find to be a very auspicious sign considering the importance of the events taking place in November. As such, the 1^st is a good day to express our Thanksgiving, for us all to "offer appreciation for all creation" according to 
http://www.mayanmajix.com/TZOLKIN/DT/DT.html  .  Just in case you are curious, on the Tzolkin date of the 4^th , we experience the Galactic Tone of "Four" which represents "Stability"....  "the energy of Four sets the parameters which establish the freedoms and barriers needed". The Mayan Sun Sign for the 4^th is "Road (Eb)", the "bearer of time and conductor of destiny", and interestingly, the energy of this sign opens "the road and serves as guides to the future for groups, communities, and individuals alike". Quite appropriate, wouldn't you agree?

The Mayan creation cycle is made up of a pattern of progression they called "13 Heavens", comprised of periods delineated as seven DAYS and six NIGHTS, very similar to the story of creation in Genesis. Each period had its own tone of evolution wherein developments occurred. We will complete the cycle known as the "5^th Night" in November, and a new period called "6^th Day" will begin on the 12^th, and continue through November 2009. This is a period of energy where consciousness surpasses technology, and we see a flowering of Divine seeds that have been planted.

I've been asked why it is that I feel such a special connection to the Mayan culture, and their ancestral lands. My first visit to the Yucatan peninsula was in 1993, and I had the opportunity to travel about 1,000 miles through the country by car to several important ruins. It was an amazing journey, flowing and effortless and at that time, I developed a deep physical connection to that part of the world. Since that first trip, I've lost count of how many times I have been ‘called' back, except to say that my feet have walked 16 ancient Mayan sites in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. The cruise we have planned for next May will take us back to two of those special places, and I can hardly wait! This day began like any other as I prepared to finish November's newsletter and write this last piece - this month's Blog. Lighting a candle and placing forth my Intentions for today I was filled with the energy of Gratitude and began expressing each of the things that brought me reasons for such gratitude. In recent days, an old friend in Florida with whom I had shared special parts of my spiritual journey with lay struggling for life in a hospital. Here at home, one friend is battling pancreatic cancer, and another is in Hospice as the realization touches her in between the morphine that she may not win this fight. Yet, there is so much to be grateful for. 

Each moment of our day is filled with opportunity, and as we look to Nature, we can see the path. Speaking with another friend recently, M.T. said "Nature safeguards its secrets - it's how we ask the question that brings Nature to reveal itself." A very powerful statement that got me thinking about what Nature teaches us at this time of year.

Change is in the air, you can see it and smell it. Nature is shedding her skin in preparation for drawing her energies within during the winter months and readying herself for the newness that lies ahead with the promise of spring. Fall tells us it is a time of transition. From our window we can see squirrels in the front yard carrying nuts and burying them in their secret hiding places. The black bear mother and her three cubs that come by our home regularly have steadily put on weight from this year's mast. Skies are clearer at night as we now see constellations and stars not seen at other times of the year. Everything is in movement, the leaves blowing past us that will soon enough be snowflakes. But for now, everywhere you look is a vibrant display of reds, yellows and oranges. It is a time of letting go, drawing energy to our roots, and planting the seeds of our dreams.

Nature reminds us to be flexible and flowing, and to use our resources to our best advantage. Nature is constant movement where control is not possible, it takes something greater. A Trust in the perfect unfolding of each living thing, the flow of seasons throughout all our lives. If we look closely at Nature, we can see a bigger picture where something grand and mysterious orchestrates an incredible balance of opposites and harmony. And we are a part of it all, flowing through that river of connection with all living things.

This month, we are reminded to feel the connection in all things, and to know deeply how we affect everything on the planet. Today, let us see aspects of All That Is in ourselves, and in every living thing.

Intensity is the keyword this month as we celebrate Scorpio birthdays with the sun transiting your sign through the 21^st. Your ruling planet Pluto governs endings and beginnings, which we'll no doubt see examples in just a few days! Idealistic and passionate, Scorpio is the sign of legacies and shared possessions, very meaningful in an election year such as this.

Goals and projects that have seemed stalled should get a jumpstart this month as most planets are now direct, with Neptune on the 1^st and Uranus resuming forward motion on the 27^th. The Full Moon in Taurus on the 13^th could feel a bit overwhelming, as Taurus is Scorpio's opposite polarity. Pluto enters Capricorn on the 26^th , transiting that sign until 2023. Pluto has been in the sign of Sagittarius since 1995, and we can see the world events that have opened our eyes and brought change during that time.  Pluto is a symbol of cleansing and rebirth, brought about through elimination and disintegration. Pluto in Sagittarius forced us to expand our perceptions beyond the limits of the old paradigm, and now Capricorn will call us to put our skills to work.

In conjunction with that important cycle shift, Jupiter moves into Aquarius on January 2^nd. Symbolic of expansion and the higher mind, Jupiter serves us well by helping us truly enter the "Age of Aquarius". Don't forget to plant your intentions during the new Moon which falls on Thanksgiving Day, and include all those things in your life for which you are grateful. The Sun moves into Sagittarius on the 21^st.

Can you see a ghostly image of the full Moon inside the bright horns of the crescent? That's called "Earthshine" or sometimes "the da Vinci glow" because Leonardo da Vinci was the first person to explain it: Sunlight hits Earth and ricochets to the Moon, casting a sheen of light across the dark lunar terrain. There are three meteor showers this month! November 9^th in the late evening, look to the southern skies for meteors associated with Comet Encke for the Taurid showers. November 18^th brings a usually good show of the Leonid Showers in the predawn southern skies from the Tempel-Tuttle comet. Finally, right around Thanksgiving the 25-27^th in the late evening, once again the southern skies, look for meteors from the Biela comet
