Everyone breathe.....slowly......inhale.....exhale.....for this month we are given the ability to stay centered and balanced based on our awareness of our CORE (Center Of Radiant Energy) and surroundings. December is filled with countless opportunities: of filling our hearts with gratitude, of providing service and finding ways to give back, of sharing and expressing love, and embracing the new energies of 2010 as we approach a new cycle.

A friend recently asked about my interest in the Maya and how that developed. Way too long an explanation here, suffice it to say that my dreamspell with the Maya began at the age of 13, and I believe they hold a key, a piece of the puzzle to our spiritual evolution. That dream has carried me to 19 of their sacred sites in four countries, and continues to grow within me like a seed.redHand Every month I look at the Mayan Galactic Tone in which we begin our new cycle of 30 days, and also the Mayan Sun Sign which I believe is the energetic overtone that ‘colors' our experience throughout the month. These are all referenced from the MayanMajix.com website's daily Tzolkin calendar. It sometime amazes me how synchronistic these two are with what is taking place in the multi-dimensional planes, and the currents moving through our collective experience.

We enter December in the energy tone of "6" which holds the vibration of "Flow". "Six is responsiveness and the art of negotiation. It is the movement of volume through space that creates time. This energy in action is like the art of dance or a great athlete in motion. Six facilitates dynamic developments in all aspects of life." I find this highly appropriate for December as we prepare and put energy into motion for the coming New Year and projects which will come to fruition in 2010.

The Mayan Sun sign for December 1st is "Seed". Those who feel its influence are people who "strive to free themselves and other from...oppressive patterns of the past. Seed people work toward uniting community" and help others "learn to appreciate all gifts and lessons received."

This month we have an amazing opportunity to plant so many SEEDS....let us walk consciously each day and know deep within our hearts the true seeds we are planting. A special activation is taking place at the Great Pyramid in Egypt on the 31st, you can read more about that below.

December's Blog, which you will also find further down, is about opening ourselves to the Power of "Saying Yes".

It's In The Stars will tell you what's happening in the Milky Way Galaxy this month, and let me tell you there is a lot going on! A preview of 2010 will be sent out toward the end of December!

The Full Moon sacred site activation by the Mayan Elders and their envoys will occur twice this month, as there are two full moons! The FIRST gathering is taking place at a sacred site in Esfahan, Iran. The Grand Maya Itza Council, speaking in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico in November 2008 released the following information. "Every Full Moon we are going to make a spiritual journey to every one of the sacred sites on the list, starting our first ceremony on November 13, 2008, and continuing that way until carrying out the last ceremony on December 28, 2012, completing an initiatic cycle of 52 moons. The ancient Mayas used to make these spiritual journeys to the ancient ceremonial centers in order to activate all the sacred sites from all around the world. During the ceremony, both the ritual conductors as well as the whole humankind will be asked to keep their minds clear so that our understanding ability can be illumined and we can understand the wisdom of the universal intelligence."
Moon #14 - and site #14 is in Esfahan, Iran and the Full Moon date is December 2, 2009

Energy Focus for the Month
...Gratitude

The energy of Gratitude births the vibration of Grace. When Grace becomes active in your life, it truly brings transformation. Regardless of our situation, or the challenges we are facing in our lives, we can always find something to be grateful for. In any moment, we can uplift another being who is in pain. On any day of the week, we can find a small favor to perform or ‘act of kindness'. When we see people on the street holding signs, we can immediately pray for their highest and greatest good to unfold and ask the Infinite to wrap them in Love. Being grateful frees our energy to give back, as we know and feel that we have all that we need. Let us walk through this Holy season with hearts that feel full.

Affirmation for December

Beloved Source Of All That Is, I Give Thanks For All The Blessings In My Life, Your Love That Flows Through Me, Your Light That Fills Me, And Your Grace That Guides My Way.

This Month We Recommend.....
XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON...

If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and send it to a service person who is currently serving in  Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.   How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!  It is FREE and only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our service men and women received a bunch of these?   Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers need to know we are behind them. This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you.   Please take the time, and then pass it on to others.  We can never say enough thank yous.

Quote for December: by Thomas Kempis
" Be thankful for the smallest blessings, and you will deserve to receive greater.  Value the least gifts no less than the greatest, and simple graces as special favors. If you remember the dignity of the giver, no gift will seem small, for nothing can be valueless that is given by the most high God."

Blog: The Power of Saying Yes

footprints in the sand photo

Lying awake last night, I heard the familiar sound of an owl hoot-hooting in the night. It was early, perhaps 2am, and found myself listening to his call, wondering what his message meant for me. He didn't stay long, just enough time to call out for a few minutes, and then he was off, to another opportunity, no doubt.

Maybe he was demonstrating to me his willingness to say Yes, and if nothing developed, he was off to another area to see how fertile his efforts there might be. I could see the logic in that, considering the topic of this month's Blog. It had recently become more apparent to me how often we say No in our lives. Granted, there are certainly times that are quite necessary, but I wondered how frequently we stopped the Universal Flow from delivering to us that which we desire, simply because we said No to a channel just before our wish arrived.

The imaginary ledge I had been standing on last week seemed quite high. You see, I had been taking my time making a decision to move forward with a project. A huge commitment with far reaching effects. Oh I had prayed continuously about it, asked for guidance, called in some favors and asked for very clear signs regarding the direction I was to take. Nothing. Bupkis.

I felt like Mother Theresa, who in her papers released a couple of years ago revealed that she never felt the presence of God near to her, never felt Christ draw nigh to her during prayer. Wow, my thoughts spun. If Mother T. can't get a sign, who am I to think I'll see one? Didn't stop me from asking though, as this decision was a very important one. Driving home from a friend's house, I saw a large angel in the sky, wings and all, holding what looked to be a book in his hands. My celestial report card?  Don't think so. My immediate thought was that is was my Book of Life, and this page he had open was blank. What the heck did that mean anyway?

The more I thought about it, the more I came to see that the next step in my journey was about making the decision from the Holy Place Within Me, not waiting for Spirit to show me the way. This moment was about the power of saying YES, and trusting the flow that would follow, and making all the next steps YES, and then some more steps that echoed resoundingly, YES! And to keep saying YES to life, and to opportunities, and to joy, and to letting go of the past. And the more I thought about YES, the more I could see to say YES to.

You've got the message now, yes?
Namaste',
Karon

It’s In The Stars For December

Happy Birthday Sagittarius....and all you wonderful Capricorns! As I have a Sagittarius brother and Capricorn mother, these are two signs that are near and dear to my heart. Sag is the Archer aspiring to great heights, and with the energy and enthusiasm of a fire sign can accomplish much. Ruled by expansive Jupiter, this sign can tend to wax philosophic where their passion for varied experiences often brings them deep wisdom.

Capricorn is so earthy and outgoing and comfortable to be around, their practical nature often brings calm to stormy areas of life. Ruled by Saturn, they remind us of the steady sure footed goat climbing to the top of the mountain, as Saturn teaches us about endurance and perseverance through challenge.

The excitement and busy-ness of the holidays is mirrored by the activity in our Solar System as the planets are kicking it into high gear as we approach the energy of a New year.  We begin December with a Full Moon in Gemini on the 2nd. As Full Moons are generally times of heightened sensitivity and energy, some of you with a strong Gemini influence can expect to see the pendulum swing between extremes. Mercury moves into Capricorn on the 5th well before Venus arrives there on the 25th - perfect for Christmas as the planet of Love!, and then Mercury promptly goes retrograde on the 26th.

Get ready for another exciting Sky Show when the Geminid Meteor Showers takes place on the 13th & 14th this month. The Leonids fizzled for us due to weather, but we'll be out looking skyward in the early hours before dawn. The Geminids are thought to come from an extinct comet named 3200 Phaethon, and could number as many as 120 per hour. Look to the Constellation Gemini as the radiant, dominated by the two bright stars Castor and Pollux, the Twins.

The New Moon occurs on the 16th in Sagittarius where hopes and dreams can be exalted. Mars began the year in Capricorn and ends the year Retrograde in Leo on the 20th, a phase that brings out our deeper desires and commitment to our path. Neptune began the year in Aquarius and ends it there, as well as Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Pisces. Jupiter finishes out 2009 in Aquarius, a move many are signaling as a true expansion of consciousness for 2010.

The Winter Solstice occurs on December 21 at 12:47 p.m. as the Sun moves into Capricorn. A time of great celebration for people around the world, take a moment to go within to the stillpoint and connect. We finish the month with a bang, literally, as we experience a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on December 31 at 2:13 p.m. in the sign of Cancer.

We have another interesting occurrence this month, and I'd like to thank our friend Bernie Arghiere, skywatcher extraordinaire, for providing info on this month's lunar spectacles. "The lunar cycle from our perspective on Earth is 29.5 days - called a synodic month.  This cycle can cause 2 interesting results on our monthly calendar.  Short February will occasionally not have a full moon, and some months may have 2 full moons, like this December 2009:

December 2nd at 2:30 a.m. EST                       December 31st at 2:13 p.m. EST

By modern definition the second full moon in the same calendar month is called a "blue moon".  This event occurs on average about once every 2.5 years.  Enjoy the Blue Moon this  New Year's Eve . Extra large bonus:  Because both of these full moons occur near the moon's closest approach to Earth (a position in its elliptical orbit called "perigee"), they will be noticeably larger. "Perigee" originates from the Greek: peri near; gee earth.  How much larger will they be? The average distance in the lunar orbit between nearest  approach (perigee) and farthest (apogee) is about 27,000 miles or 11% of the average lunar distance from earth.  So a perigean full moon is about 11% larger than an apogean full moon."

A very exciting month awaits us in December! May your stars be bright and your life be filled with Light!
