Many have spoken about the feeling of ‘time speeding up', and considering it is now August and the summer almost over, we experience that feeling at a visceral level.
August roars in with the Mayan Galactic Tone of "1" which is representative of "Unity", given in the MayanMajix.com website's daily Tzolkin calendar. Considering the cycle of Lunar and Solar eclipses at this time, the third about to occur this month, I find once again the Mayan Galactic Tone very much aligned with the energy occurring in our lives. The eclipses have served to bring shadow to light, and light to shadow, with the ultimate outcome being oneness, unity. The Sun sign for August 1st is "Wind", the breath of spirit of and life. "Wind is the power behind the natural movement of cycles...and embodies the power of dissemination and planting of good seeds or ideas." Read on to hear more about another powerful alignment at the end of the month which will truly hasten the growth of the seeds we have planted.

"Every Full Moon we are going to make a spiritual journey to every one of the sacred sites on the list, starting our first ceremony on November 13, 2008, and continuing that way until carrying out the last ceremony on December 28, 2012, completing an initiatic cycle of 52 moons. The ancient Mayas used to make these spiritual journeys to the ancient ceremonial centers in order to activate all the sacred sites from all around the world. During the ceremony, both the ritual conductors as well as the whole humankind will be asked to keep their minds clear so that our understanding ability can be illumined and we can understand the wisdom of the universal intelligence."

Energy Focus for the Month...INTEGRATION! With all of the planets dancing in the heavens and the energies moving consciousness in all directions these days, most people are experiencing some element of Integration in their lives. As with the eclipses that have recently occurred, it is the melding of shadow and light, the yin/yang aspect of what the Mayans called Hunab Ku, and its purpose is to bring us into the fullness of unity consciousness. Challenging, maybe, frustrating, perhaps. If we can only see beyond the present circumstance, we can know the outcome, and it is good.

Did You Know? ..... Comet Swift-Tuttle (formally designated as 109P/Swift-Tuttle) was independently discovered by Lewis Swift on July 16, 1862 and by Horace Parnell Tuttle on July 19, 1862. The comet made a return appearance in 1992, when it was rediscovered by Japanese astronomer Tsuruhiko Kiuchi. It is the parent body of the Perseid meteor shower, perhaps the best known shower and also among the most reliable in performance. The comet is on an orbit which many believed would eventually hit either the Earth or the Moon, when its next perihelion passage about August 14, 2126 occurred. Since the solid nucleus of Swift-Tuttle is about the same size as the object thought to have caused the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event, this was of some concern. This prompted amateur astronomer and writer Gary W. Kronk to search for previous apparitions of this comet. He found the comet was most likely observed by the Chinese in 69 BC and AD 188, which was quickly confirmed by Brian G. Marsden. This information led to a recalculation of its orbit, which indicated the comet's orbit was more stable than expected, making the threat disappear.

Blog: Warp Drive Needs Repairing
Little did I know that the energetic focus for June(surprise) would carryover into July, or that the focus for July(release) would be so challenging. My mom said that I usually travel at warp speed, and after an occurrence on the beach at Hilton Head, I would now have to slow down and travel like the rest of the mortals.
We were walking the main beach path, the same path we had used several times, one that hundreds of people traverse daily. A kid had dug a two foot deep ‘booby trap' hole, and covered it with reeds. We used to do that in the sand box when we were kids, the only thing we ever trapped was unsuspecting toys and trucks. Russ walked right over it, I stepped down fully into it and lurched forward, grabbing my left foot now seared with pain. I screamed for ice, and people close by ran over. Russ dropped everything and came to my side, as did the Beach patrol and lifeguards. I was convinced my foot was broken.
Really and truly, hunky lifeguard Michael with the 12 pack abs carried me to our car, and Russ drove me to the emergency room. Their diagnosis, which would later change, was a severe sprain, wrapped me up and sent me on my way with crutches and pain meds. The next several days were spent on the couch with my foot iced, elevated and myself immobile.
Forced inertia isn't something I would wish upon anyone. General consensus among those that know me well was that I had spent too much time traveling too fast, and this was simply Spirit's way of saying it was time to slow down. I'm not so sure about that, but, whatever.
The physical pain I could deal with. An MRI last week showed I have a fracture and several contusions. Shoot, you can take stuff for that! The torrent of emotions was something I was unprepared for, as was being so helpless and unable to do anything in my normal routine. The frustration at the situation, even though being grateful did come into play, was a constant irritant. The swelling is going down, as is the bruising. Russ has earned so many ‘husband points' that he may never run out. Men will understand that.
I know this is a time for integration, and if this was the only way I could be still long enough for that to occur, then so be it. Ok, maybe my warp drive just needed a little repair. Next time I'll just have Scotty beam me up.

We crank up this month with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on the 6th - whew-hoo! The third eclipse in the last four weeks, they have served to bring into the light what we have kept hidden in our psyche, in our deepest crevices where we pile things we want to ignore. But so explosive is this period of integration, we can feel at times the passion and power of volcanic energy bursting forth, beyond our control. With four planets retrograde this month: Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, a lot of the shadow we are dealing with comes from our past, and it is necessary for us to bring that into balance in order for us to move into this new era of expansiveness.
On the 12th, the Earth enters the stream of debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle, which serves as the source of the annual Perseid meteor shower and is one of my favorites to watch! Though people began seeing meteors by the end of July, the biggest part of the debris stream creating the most meteors will occur August 11th to 12th, with the possibility of seeing dozens of meteors per hour. Be sure to grab a chair, go someplace dark, and admire the magnificence of our Solar System! (drawing from NASA Science)
The new Moon in Leo takes place on the 20th, and as I say each month, is the best time for planting new intentions, desires and expressing your dreams. We also continue to feel the effects of the conjunction of Chiron and Neptune through February 2010. We previously talked about the energy this is bringing to our path, healing old hurts from the past (Chiron) and dealing with the feeling of separation (illusion) from Source, and our Divine Nature (Neptune).
The Sun enters Virgo on the 22nd, and the carefree attitude of summer is gone as we turn toward a different focus of getting things done and analyzing what projects we need to tackle through the remainder of the year.
